Lemnos
Lemnos is a very special Island with a big history, but perhaps what is most amazing about it are its sand dunes. Lemnos' landscape has many volcanic formations and beaches. the island's local cuisine includes dishes like Kalathaki cheese, flomaria pasta and a dessert known as venizelika. the island is also the landing point of Hephaestus after he was thrown from Olympus.
Samothrace
Samothrace, also Samothraki, is a beautiful island in the north of Greece. the island is home to Mt fengari, the highest mountain in the Aegean. Samothraki also boasts the Sanctuary of the gods. a series of ancient ruins. this is where the winged victory statue was found that is now in the louvre. the island also has many waterfalls and rivers. Samothraki has remained untouched by mass tourism and is the perfect getaway destination if you are looking for and island away from the crowds.


Thasos
Thasos is home to a monastery that claims to have the nail that nailed Jesus' right hand to the cross. Thasos is a great island for families with many villages and beaches to explore. Thasos is known for being a very green island with lots of nice beaches and food. some local cuisine includes fresh seafood and honey. Thasos also has many mountains making it an ideal destination for hikers. the island used to be home to gold mines and marble quarries which made it wealthy.
Ikaria
one of five blue zones around the world, Ikaria provides its inhabitants with long life. the island has many thermal springs, forests, mountains and beaches. the most well known is Seychelles beach. Ikaria has many traditional villages with their own local cuisine. due to popularity on the internet for being a blue zone, Ikaria is receiving more and more tourists which means it is getting busier and harder to visit. in Greek mythology, this is the spot where Daedalus fell from the sky.
