the Peloponnese is a region of Greece known for its mountains and wine. it also played many crucial roles in ancient times. the only thing that separates it from the mainland is the Corinth canal.

Corinth canal

the Corinth canal is an amazing man made accomplishment. just 21m wide and finished in 1893, the canal stretches for 6.4km and separates the Peloponnese from Athens. it's a great place to visit along your journey as it is only an hours drive from the capital.

Mycenae

Mycenae, an ancient Greek city, was a major center during the late Bronze Age. Known for King Agamemnon and its impressive ruins, it played a crucial role in Greek culture before being abandoned around 1100 BCE. it's an amazing site to visit as it is only a 2 hour drive from Athens.

Nafplio

Nafplio is a charming coastal town in Greece, known for its rich history and stunning architecture. It was the first capital of modern Greece and features the impressive Palamidi Fortress and the picturesque Bourtzi fortress on an islet in the harbor.

Monemvasia

Monemvasia, a historic town in Greece, is known for its medieval fortress and Byzantine churches. Founded in the 6th century, it played a significant role in the Middle Ages and remains a popular destination today. the only way of access is by a small bridge from the mainland.
